Mealworm Frass

Mealworm Frass

Mealworm Frass containing chitin is an excellent organic soil amendment for indoor and outdoor plants. The NPK is 2 - 3 - 2.5

WHAT IS FRASS? Frass is the excrement of mealworms (yep, it's their poop!). It is odorless and has the consistency of sand. My mealworms are fed high quality organic vegetables raised here on our hobby farm.

WHAT IS CHITIN? Chitin is essentially the exoskeleton shedding’s of a mealworm as it grows. Chitin is a 100% natural biopesticide. It is known to trigger plants to produce stronger stalks and leaves and act in a vaccine like manner fending off pests and fungal pathogens,

HOW IS YOUR FRASS PROCESSED? We use a multi-layer sifting process every 2 weeks using mesh sifters sized at 1/50 and 1/70, so you are guaranteed to receive freshest and high-quality frass and chitin.  It is then frozen for at least two days.

HOW DO I USE IT?  Here are just a few ways you can apply frass to your plants:
- Hydroponics - use 1 Tablespoon per gallon of water
- Compost Teas - use 1 Tablespoon per gallon of water
- Amendments to soil – use 2 Tablespoons per square foot of soil, or sprinkle on top of soil as   a top dressing, or you can mix in with top layer of soil.
